About the Role

Location: Hybrid in Waukesha, WI (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are in office days)
The American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ASGCT) is seeking a results-driven Development professional to join our team. In this role, you will build and manage relationships with corporate partners, foundations, exhibitors, and sponsors to generate revenue and advance ASGCT’s mission. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position will play an important part in driving revenue while strengthening awareness and engagement across the rapidly evolving cell and gene therapy industry.
Primary Responsibilities
Corporate Partnerships & Revenue Generation
- Independently manage and grow a portfolio of corporate accounts and foundations, focusing on retention, expansion, and long-term relationship development.
- Develop and execute effective fundraising tactics to meet and exceed sponsorship, exhibit, advertising, and grant revenue goals.
- Develop and present customized sponsorship packages, partnership proposals, and funding opportunities aligned with supporter objectives and ASGCT strategic priorities.
- Conduct outreach through phone, email, virtual meetings, conferences, and other engagement channels to build relationships and secure support.
- Thoroughly understand and effectively communicate ASGCT’s mission, programs, initiatives, and impact to current and prospective supporters.
- Maintain a deep, current understanding of assigned company accounts, including their organizational structure, budget cycles, key stakeholders, historical giving/spending patterns, and strategic priorities, in order to inform proactive stewardship and identify opportunities to retain and grow spend.
- Support development-related activities at ASGCT conferences, meetings, and events.
Development Operations
- Assist in the design and implementation of annual fundraising campaigns and tactics that align with ASGCT’s budgeted revenue goals.
- Coordinate the preparation, submission, and reconciliation of online grant proposals and funding requests for assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather program information, audience insights, and impact metrics to support proposal development and stewardship activities.
- Support donor stewardship efforts, including recognition, reporting, impact communications, and other renewal strategies.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure successful fulfillment of sponsorship, exhibit, advertising, and grant commitments.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate supporter records, outreach activities, and opportunity tracking within CRM systems.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to monitor portfolio growth, retention, recruitment, and revenue generation.
- Analyze fundraising and partnership data to identify opportunities for increased engagement, revenue growth, and supporter retention.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of department reports, presentations, and revenue forecasts.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of professional experience in fundraising, business development, sponsorship sales, corporate partnerships, or related revenue-generating roles.
- Results-driven with proven success in securing major gifts, sponsorships, or grants.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and engage executive-level stakeholders, including CEOs, CMOs, and other senior leaders.
- Strong project management and relationship management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
- Ability to travel up to 2 weeks per year.
