The Sr. Digital Communications Specialist will play a pivotal role in assisting to execute and optimize communication initiatives to support organizational objectives. Responsibilities include creating engaging content for email campaigns, social media, and making timely updates to our internal and external websites. This role supports the Manager of Digital Communications to create impactful communications for both employees and our member population. Strong attention to detail, writing skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of digital best practices are key essential for success in this role.

  • Coordinates communications for the organization’s websites, social media accounts, email system, and text messaging platforms 
  • Manages day-to-day social media functions of the organization; monitors and responds to messages, reviews, and comments 
  • Collaborates with graphic designers to create content 
  • Manages the development and execution of email and text campaigns for enrollments, benefits education, and legally required documents 
  • Create and send emails to internal and external business partners to notify them of critical member communications 
  • Drafts and send monthly newsletter to all employees 
  • Drafts monthly communications dashboard, new hires and service anniversary PDFs 
  • Analyzes email user data (ex. opens, unsubscribes, click rates) to inform future campaigns 
  • Carefully reviews email lists (reports) to ensure accurate delivery to the correct target audience 
  • Responsible for maintaining the monthly email and text opt-in tracking spreadsheet 
  • Edits all work for grammar, voice consistency, and health literacy; helps to edit colleagues’ work 
  • Creates and updates content on the organization’s Intranet. Including writing/editing news articles, updating/editing web pages, and adding hyperlinks 
  • Manages and edits web content (e.g., adding graphics and messaging to uhh.org and hospitalityrx.org). 
  • Reviews webpages to ensure links are working and content is up to date 
  • Captures digital communication metrics and statistics 
  • Identifies problems and alternative solutions 
  • Engages with key target audiences through effective, timely, and succinct digital communications

Essential Qualifications:

  • 4 ~ 6 years of direct experience creating digital campaigns (mass email and text message), editing websites and/or intranets, and managing social media platforms 
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing or related field 
  • Strong attention to detail, writing skills, and critical thinking 
  • Knowledge of digital best practices, and a track record of achievement in work using practices 
  • 25% travel to Chicago IL

Salary range for this position:

Salary $72,600 – $90,800. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to: relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
