The Specialist - Advertising and Social Media Content role is focused on organic and paid content and creative, which will impact everything from concepting and crafting posts for our Instagram and TikTok to helping storyboard out a script for a video that will play on TV or onboard. This is the ideal role for a passionate creative, who has a unique and differentiating point of view on how United can share our story with customers and employees in new, relevant, and modern ways. Reporting into the Senior Manager - Advertising and Social Media Content, this role helps deliver a wide variety of advertising and social media work on a consistent basis. The ability to lead several projects at once, an eye for detail, and the desire and ability to communicate and collaborate across departments and with agency and external partners are the keys to this role’s success. This is a Chicago-based hybrid role that will require two days in office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the conception and development of advertising and social media creative that promotes a wide variety of company initiatives 
  • Creative development is for traditional advertising channels and social/digital channels 
  • Work with subject matter experts across United to ensure accurate messaging and correct photo/video creative 
  • Lead internal and external content approval process, ensuring work is vetted accurately by all business partners 
  • Support team on video, still, and out-of-home production 
  • Attend company events as needed to collect assets that may be published to advertising and social media platforms, occasionally in real-time

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Advertising, Social or Digital Media, New Media 
  • 2+ years of relevant experience 
  • Experience with an agency or in-house with an advertising or social media team 
  • Strong advertising and/or social media copywriting skills 
  • An interest in and general understanding of advertising and social media best practices and terminology 
  • Ability to recognize efficiencies in tweaking content for channel specificity 
  • Experience in crafting content for a variety of channels – from Instagram Stories to TikTok videos to digital ads 
  • A self-starter who is organized and can manage multiple, competing priorities 
  • Diligence in handling details 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship 
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification 
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $88,440.00.The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
