The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for enhancing Appvion’s brand, positioning, and awareness in the eyes of our target market through innovative and impactful communication and messaging. This role plays a critical part in amplifying content to position Appvion as THE industry thought leader and value-added solution provider in the thermal paper space globally. Additionally, this role will own the Appvion brand, ensuring consistent usage, measuring reach and preference, and positioning Appvion as a central voice in target industry conversations.

What You’ll Do:

Brand Awareness:

  • Actively identify and assess new opportunities where Appvion’s capabilities provide a sustainable competitive advantage. 
  • Research, analyze, and effectively communicate customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. 
  • Serve as a key contact for external customers, providing information on current product portfolios and services. 
  • Support new product launches, product maintenance, process improvements, and cost-reduction projects as a key team member.

Enterprise Value:

  • Develop a deep understanding of existing industries, markets, and company technologies. 
  • Identify market gaps and growth opportunities and create strategic recommendations.
  • Gather and document customer, competitor, and market insights using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. 
  • Conduct primary research through interviews, surveys, and voice-of-customer initiatives.
  • Utilize secondary research, including existing database analysis and internet searches, to support marketing and business strategies.

Organizational Efficiency:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the annual marketing plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 
  • Develop and manage content for Appvion’s website and product profiles on social media platforms (LinkedIn, etc.). 
  • Oversee the planning, logistics, and execution of Appvion’s Thermal School program.

What It Takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field. 
  • 4-6 years’ experience in market research, business analysis, and marketing strategy development. 
  • Strong understanding and application of key analytical frameworks, forecasting techniques, and statistical analysis. 
  • Proficiency in marketing and communication tools, including Adobe Suite, MS Office, CRM platforms, and social media management (LinkedIn). 
  • Ability to synthesize complex business issues and create data-driven recommendations. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly and persuasively. 
  • Highly motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
