The Wisconsin Department of Tourism is looking for a Regional Tourism Specialist to work with the Wisconsin Tourism industry in Northeast Wisconsin. This position will work out of their home office setting in Northeast Wisconsin and requires extensive travel.

Job Duties:

  • Perform highly responsible professional work involving a wide variety of activities designed to drive economic development and promote tourism in Wisconsin. 
  • Educate the industry on Department of Tourism programs, brand strategy, research, customer service principles and destination development. 
  • Provide marketing assistance and strategic planning advice to associations, tourism businesses, Chambers of Commerce, Convention and Visitor Bureaus and other economic, community and tourism development leaders in Northeast Wisconsin. 
  • Assist local, county and community officials as well as statewide organizations to develop and promote tourism sites, destinations, attractions and events. 
  • Be in frequent contact with the Secretary and the Department on issues concerning tourism development and promotion and interact with other state agencies with similar goals.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to make presentations to small and large audiences and write letters, reports and memos. 
  • Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills. 
  • Time management skills and logistics planning. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills. 
  • Ability to utilize effective problem-solving techniques. 
  • Proficient use of Power Point, Internet and E-Mail.

Starting pay will be $22.247 per hour, plus benefits.
