STIR is seeking a public relations and social media specialist to our growing team. The public relations and social media specialist will collaborate with team members to assist in managing PR and social media programs for STIR and its clients. This person will work closely with the PR account supervisor and manage day-to-day status of multiple PR and social media projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft press materials, including press releases, media alerts and media kit materials
  • Develop targeted media lists using CisionPoint
  • Assist in identifying editorial opportunities
  • Develop earned media reports
  • Draft and post blog content
  • Assist in management of the strategic development of social media programs
  • Manage, interact with and respond to social media audiences
  • Develop content for multiple social media platforms
  • Review social media analytics to optimize platform growth

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or similar field
  • 2 years of experience in public relations/social media, preferably in an agency setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills including proficiency in writing, editing and proofreading
  • Familiarity with CisionPoint a plus
  • Experience writing/editing press materials, including news releases, feature stories and media alerts
  • Experience using social media platforms for brands, including Facebook and Twitter (LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram and WordPress a plus)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • An ambitious self starter with an interest in advancing their career through achievement.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive, open to new ways of working and able to balance multiple priorities.
