Under the direction of the Product Category Manager - Electrical, the Product Manager for Electrical Products is responsible for coordinating the product management activities for the electrical market. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality and ISO14001 EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage new product development activities using the Product Roadmap to optimize product launches. 
  • Identify product opportunities and actively manage the entire product life cycle for assigned product categories. 
  • Provide technical support and ensure the products have the required technical approvals. 
  • Communicate customer requirements and needs for new product developments to design engineering and prioritize all new product development activities to maximize sales growth. 
  • Actively participate in developing industry specifications. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams consisting of various operational units to determine critical inputs for the calculation of product manufacturing costs and required capital investments. 
  • Proactively generate innovative and creative solutions to improve margins. 
  • Calculate return on investments (ROI) for new product developments and author business cases for justification on the capital expenditures required for new product developments. 
  • Determine new product pricing via the combination of investigative work into market level pricing and optimizing corporate profit margin targets. 
  • Key contributor to product and market deliverables required for effective product launches and market branding. 
  • Develop and deliver product training to internal teams and customers. 
  • Manage product line price lists.

Other Functions:

  • Forecast product requirements and provide inventory levels needed to achieve corporate customer service and inventory goals. 
  • Attend industry trade shows. 
  • Visit customers to evaluate market needs.

Success in This Role Includes:

  • Understanding of marketing, engineering, and manufacturing processes. 
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 quality systems, and ISO14001 environmental system. 
  • Ability to lead internal product development teams. 
  • Time management of key projects. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Customer oriented focus.

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Marketing or engineering preferred. 
  • 2 to 4+ years product management experience or related industry experience required. 
  • Related experience within a manufacturing environment is highly preferred. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills 
  • Experience initiating and managing projects.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented. 
  • Domestic travel (up to 20%) required.
