Parks Graphic Designer, Seasonal

Position Summary and Job Duties:

The seasonal Graphic Designer will work alongside the Development Coordinator with the management, planning, and execution of a variety of graphic design projects for the Kenosha County Parks throughout the year.

• Designs graphics for digital and print marketing materials using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop 
• Assists in the creation and design of brochures, logos, flyers, posters, banners, and digital pieces 
• Assists Coordinator with creation of branded graphical items to promote park initiatives and special events 
• Drafts social media graphics and posts Performs other duties as assigned

Success Factors:

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other Adobe Creative Cloud apps 
• Knowledge of, or ability to readily learn, various software applications 
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with patrons of all ages 
• A strong understanding on design and branding 
• Ability to navigate most forms of social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) 
• Ability to design and edit graphics 
• Ability to accept, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instruction 
• Ability to multitask and organize numerous projects efficiently 
• Ability to provide regular updates to immediate supervisor 
• Ability to meet deadlines as needed

Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience:

• College undergraduate or graduate student, or recent university graduate, with academic focus/experience in a degree program related to any of the following: graphic design, web design, marketing, communications, or related discipline 
• Videography experience is preferred but not required 
• Must be at least 18 years old at time of application 
• Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record

Hiring Range: $16.00 to $20.00 per hour based on qualifications.

• 20 hours per week beginning in January 2024.
