This position is responsible for the management and execution of the catalog and direct mail circulation, customer acquisition and print marketing strategies for optimum sales and profit. In addition, this position will assist in developing and executing marketing strategies for the brand through cross channel promotions, social media, brand development and enhanced customer segmentation.

This position will lead efforts to improve upon all print marketing in an effort to maximize sales and related financials. Implements testing strategies, analyzes results and forecasts segment performance and partners cross functionally to accurately project direct to consumer demand. The role will provide leadership and vision to drive the consumer business for The Popcorn Factory brand as well as to identify and lead current and future marketing activities.

This position manages the P & L for the consumer print business, managing the key drivers of contribution dollars and establishing a strong foundation for future growth. Additional responsibility includes support of retail stores, fundraising, wholesale and business to business gift services.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee concept development, strategizing, planning, implementation, coordination and profitability of print initiatives, including defining goals, objectives and associated tactics. This includes:

  • Develop, execute and report results of promotions and marketing campaigns that drive strong traffic, conversion and sales
  • Manage and communicate the monthly marketing calendar taking into consideration events, promotions, historical performance, customer experience and customer segmentation
  • Brainstorm and generate new and innovative ideas for marketing campaigns
  • Execute marketing campaigns with the expectation of continual improvement including triggered lifecycle and transactional campaigns
  • Works with ADS team, list processing vendors, list brokers and co-op databases to obtain lists, housefile segmentation, merge/purge and data flow for mailings and to update databases
  • Develop and execute an acquisition and retention strategy to grow customer file size and maximize the current customer file
  • Develop and implement test plans, analyze and share results with leadership, cross-marketing and cross-functional partners
  • Effectively write and kick off creative briefs, and ensure flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure strong marketing synergy across multiple channels and vehicles

Grow multi-brand customers while maintaining The Popcorn Factory's financial goals including support of Passport and Rewards and Multi-Brand Customer programs.

  • Setup of offers, source codes and promotions on catalog and web systems.
  • Manage the marketing budget along with Digital Manager to ensure financial goals are being met and finance is adequately informed on progress.
  • Analyze data at a granular level, summarize concisely and report out key learnings. Distill trends from raw data.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate hindsights and Go to Market planning.
  • Monitor and make recommendations for improvements on the health of file.
  • Complete forecasts on demand/sales, mailing segments, catalog and web sales.
  • Develop a strategy using analytics to identify new segmentation approaches and/or refine existing customer segments.

Requirements:

  • College Degree in Business or Marketing 
  • 3-5 years direct mail/catalog marketing experience, including managing list processing services, list brokers, co-op database 
  • Strong strategic thinking and effective analytical skills 
  • Strong, persuasive presentation skills (one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and management) 
  • Excellent communicator: timely follow-up, ability to articulate objectives, strategies and tactics to various cross-functional teams 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and project management experience: ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Self-starter and can successfully work through ambiguity 
  • Ability to build partnerships across many functional teams and levels of the organization 
  • Effectively work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Must be able to trouble shoot issues and make recommendations for resolution
