As the Category Marketing Manager for Food, you will primarily accelerate the introduction of our new Tetra Recart technology, and continue the proliferation of aseptic technology across the packaged food category. In short, you will lead efforts to increase carton penetration within prepared food aisles by developing existing and new customers and building consumer knowledge of key carton benefits.

This challenging, yet rewarding, position will require marketing experience within prepared foods, ease in engaging a range of stakeholders from food scientists to senior level management of Fortune 500 companies, and an entrepreneurial drive to deliver results.

You will support the sales team and customers as the category expert to provide analysis and insights that will disrupt the category and establish a clear value proposition for our products. Initial categories include: Soups, Beans, Tomato, Vegetables, Ready Meals and Pet Food.

Together with our customers, you will develop integrated and creative marketing initiatives designed to drive carton acceptance among the mainstream audience, and reminding consumers that Tetra Pak Protects What's Good. The position will be based in Denton, TX or Vernon Hills, IL and report directly to the Category Marketing Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to category strategic growth plans and drive implementation of plan across US and Canada.
  • Lead category analysis through primary and secondary data.
  • Synthesize insights along with value chain advantages to develop compelling selling stories in support of sales objectives.
  • Requires close cooperation with cross marketing functions (i.e. business intelligence, communication, environment, retail and design (agencies))
  • Build teamwork and develop strong communication among team members domestically and globally.
  • Deliver monthly business analysis, insights and market trends from a market and internal business standpoint Deliver monthly business analysis, insights and market trends from a market and internal business standpoint
  • Participate in customer meetings as a 'category and marketing specialist.'
  • Act as key sales tool for business development purposes by working with sales to credibly identify and suggest alternative packaging solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Perform the marketing function within the Key Account Team.
  • Drive marketing initiatives with customers, including optimizing market support and development of customer brands in Tetra Pak packages
  • Build teamwork and develop strong communication among all functional and geographically based team members
  • Own and maintain some element of the data systems and marketing support infrastructure
  • 50% travel; both domestic and international

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA Degree in Marketing or relevant area, MBA preferred.
  • 5 years proven experience in brand management and strategic marketing with proven ability to develop product positioning and market strategy while optimizing the P&L to deliver enhanced product equity and top-line value.
  • Experience in creating new markets, customers and product applications utilizing research, trends and competitive analysis.
  • History of working with retailers, retail brands, management with a track record of growing sales through marketing expertise.
  • Experience with AC Nielsen or IRI data systems and marketing support infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to work without authority in cross-functional teams, with customers and key stakeholders
  • Strong experience in analyzing and defending data with strong experience in MS Office
  • Commitment to change management and the development of others with the drive for continuous improvement.
