The ideal candidate for the Marketing Intern is a detail-oriented, professional, and organized communicator who thrives in team settings yet works independently. You’ll collaborate with our team to develop and implement initiatives across social media, digital, and print platforms. This role is perfect for a candidate with an eye for design and a commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities:

Social Media

  • Assist with creating creative content, including videos and reels, using available image assets and capturing image and video clips from project site visits. Develop content with tools such as mobile phones, gimbals, and Canva. 
  • Assist with scheduling content, using Loomly, on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Houzz, and Pinterest to drive engagement and follower growth. 
  • Monitor and report on social media analytics and assist in strategic campaign planning.

Digital

  • Assist with monthly e-newsletter creation and distribution using MailChimp. 
  • Implement strategies to grow our contact list. 
  • Update the website using WordPress—blog posts, photos, and content—to align with social media content. 
  • Support photography for projects and organize and maintain the image library. 
  • Add assets to inspiration platforms, like Houzz and Pinterest.

Print

  • Assist with marketing collateral and print ads using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign templates. 
  • Assist with drafting news releases, researching media contacts, coordinating publication pitches, and responding to media inquiries. 
  • Support the development of materials for publication and competition submittals.

Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design or a related field.

  • Strong social media skills with experience creating content and posting on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Photography and video skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and proofreading skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, WordPress, and event planning.
  • Basic understanding of marketing and design principles.
  • Positive attitude, professional appearance, and ability to handle confidential information.

  • Part-time, flexible scheduling, 10-20 hours per week.
  • In-person in our design studio located in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward.
