The Marketing Communications Specialist role will serve as a marcom generalist and will be responsible for supporting marketing communications initiatives in the professional and consumer Animal and Barber & Beauty divisions, with a focus on advertising coordination, digital marketing (email and SMS), marketing material development, website content management, content calendar management and corporate content for LinkedIn. The individual will play a key role in the planning and tactical execution of marketing programs that help the company meet its strategic communications objectives. Project management, copy writing and editing skills are required along with attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES; Other duties may be assigned.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Manages the ad calendar for advertising and direct email offers for all divisions working with direction from the Manager, Marketing and Communications.
  • Manages new job requests in Adobe Workfront, the company’s job workflow management system. 
  • Supports the company’s DAM (digital asset management) system; setting up new users and managing asset uploading and availability.
  • Assist in the creation/implementation of marketing content and sales promotional materials according to brand guidelines: Support internal teams with the production of product info sheets, sales presentations, and work with digital promotion including asset development, animations/infographics, and other relevant social media campaigns.
  • Gathering and communicating success stories/best practice internally and externally.
  • Maintains a variety of internal reports and project lists.
  • Supports other projects and activities as directed.
  • Creation or review of presentations.
  • Coordination of new customer programs as developed. 

PRINT COLLATERAL

  • Works with the Events team to manage all printed deliverables for each event or show, gathers direction, creates jobs, manages production and shipment of goods and reports on deadlines.
  • Works with Purchasing team to procure printed collateral and signage to support specific show needs and additional requests. 
  • Manages complete inventorying of printed collateral: catalogs for the Barber & Beauty, Animal and Consumer markets, brochures, charts, reference guides and other branded items. 

ADVERTISING

  • Working with the Manager, Marketing and Communications, coordinates the Andis ad calendar by tracking schedules, monitoring, and reporting on deadlines; generates insertion orders.
  • Coordinates submission of ad artwork with marketing team as needed.
  • Submits ads to publications 1 week before deadline.
  • Maintains, updates, and adds notes to the Advertising database as needed.
  • Collects and solicits media kits annually.
  • Keeps records of advertising by publication, as well as invoices, files of editorials, advertorials and exposure for recording and measurement purposes. 

DIGITAL CONTENT

  • Updates andis.com with a variety of content including: new products, press releases, imagery, marketing materials, use and cares and other content as needed. 
  • Assists in maintaining the company’s digital asset library and responds to requests for digital assets from Andis customers and vendors. 
  • Coordinates e-blasts for B2B and B2C lists on a set release schedule. 
  • Creates jobs for marketing communications needs, including product toolkits, ads, banners, social media posts, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Marketing or Communications) required. 
  • 3 - 5 years office experience required in marketing or communications.
  • Must have the ability to travel as needed. 
  • Experienced project management is a must – with a high degree of organization and attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects & priorities with fast-changing deadlines.
  • High energy and flexible ‘can-do’ attitude; willing to learn new software and processes.
  • Familiarity with email marketing applications e.g., Click, CRM tools, Marketing Automation
  • Experience working with website content management systems.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications helpful.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop a plus but not required.
  • Excellent at cross functional collaboration to deliver high quality and value-added support.
  • Ability to manage creative processes and deliver consistent, aligned content across multiple communications channels, including advertising, websites, social media, trade shows and events, media relations, partner programs, and other key communications vehicles and activities.
  • Demonstration of excellent communication, writing, editing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of strong internal and external communications strategies, plans and programs.
