Overview of Position:

The Marketing Communications Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and supports the Marketing and Communications team by managing By The Hand’s social media, leading the student story collection process, managing the Marketing and Communications archives, and photo library. This will be done while ensuring By The Hand’s brand standards are being met and upholding and reflecting our religious purpose. Basic writing, photography/video, basic design skills, organization and an affinity and solid understanding of social media management are strongly desired for this role. Works with an outside marketing agency to oversee design projects included in our monthly retainer. Also assists with various Spring Benefit marketing tasks. 

Spiritual Requirements:

  • Has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God, and is in regular fellowship with other members in a Bible-believing church.

  • Agrees with the By The Hand Club Doctrinal Statement and adheres to the Employee Biblical Standards of Living.

  • Shows by example, the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.

  • Leads a team devotional on a regular basis and participates in weekly team prayer.

  • Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires. 

  • Works with staff and members of the EOS Leadership Team to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further By The Hand Club’s religious purpose and freedom.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation. 

  • Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior. 

  • Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy. 

  • Participates in employee growth plans, including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings. 

  • Manages all social media accounts including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, etc. This includes following a predetermined social posting schedule, responding to comments on our feed and creating opportunities for social media engagement that will help By The Hand expand its reach.

  • Works with the Mar/Comm team to help develop overall social media strategy.

  • Engages with followers on social media and responds to comments on all posts, while always projecting our position while modeling our Christian values.

  • Interviews students at various sites and writes student stories for publication. Prays with students at the conclusion of the interviews and encourage them in their spiritual journey.

  • Photographs various By The Hand events at various sites as needed.

  • Designs donor presentations, impact reports and other key donor materials for the Fund Development Team.

  • Works with an outside marketing agency (OX) to oversee design projects included in our monthly retainer.

  • Assists with various Spring Benefit marketing tasks including travel arrangements for student groups, slide deck design and handling all orders for marketing collateral.

  • Communicates guidelines for email signatures with all By The Hand Staff.

  • Manages the Mar/Comm archives including the organization and storage of Mar/Comm media and campaign files.

  • Keeps By The Hand’s digital photo library up-to-date.

  • Works with staff and leadership to implement policies and procedures to further the BTH religious purpose and religious freedom.

  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.

  • Maintains proficient technology skills as required by job responsibilities. 

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or English.

  • Experience using Google Suite, Google Drive and social media management. In addition, experience with Canva is helpful.

Pay Rate: $45,000 - $50,000/year.
