JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing Associate is responsible for enhancing our social media presence across all platforms by creating original content, with strong graphic design, video production, and photography skills. In addition, be responsible for various day-to-day tasks, which may include communication with guests, conducting market research, participating in marketing campaigns and track status of major projects. The Marketing Associate will play a vital role in implementing and executing marketing strategies to drive visibility to the MPAC brand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend MPAC events as needed to capture and share real-time updates. Take photos and post while at the event to provide live coverage, highlighting diverse voices and perspectives to engage our audience. 
  • Manage and grow the organization’s social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), and others. 
  • Create and curate engaging content, including posts, stories, reels, and videos, to build brand awareness and foster community engagement. 
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and engagement opportunities. 
  • Analyze social media metrics to optimize content performance and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Act as the lead for digital asset inventory for marketing teams including updating information, uploading images, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date content in our platforms. 
  • Encourage, identify, and engage with content from patrons, subscribers, donors, and visitors of MPAC across social media platforms to foster community engagement. 
  • Develop and maintain content calendars, ensuring timely updates and consistency across external event pages (e.g., Visit Milwaukee). 
  • Collaborate on special marketing projects, including research, content creation, and execution of social media strategies
  • Manage and archive marketing assets, including digital signage, print materials, and promotional items. 
  • Capture and produce engaging photo and video content, editing and optimizing content for multiple platforms 
  • Monitor marketing managed email inboxes, address email or distribute to appropriate departments 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in content creation and social media management 
  • Execute audience surveys and collect data 
  • Ensure all materials adhere to business brand guidelines. 
  • Support the planning of e-mail content & messaging strategy 
  • Assist with design projects as needed. 
  • Compile and analyze social media trends and data to offer valuable insights, highlights, and suggestions. 
  • Build a basic understanding of all software/programs utilized by department 
  • Various one-time or on-going marketing administrative projects.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, content creation 
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A commitment to the arts and arts education 
  • Ability to be appreciative of diverse perspectives, and a commitment to the organization’s initiatives regarding racial equity, diversity, and inclusion (REDI) 
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics. 
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include but not limited to evenings, weekends and/or holidays based on occasion. 
  • Excellent research skills & ability to stay informed on best practices, industry trends & downtown happenings.
  • Experienced in photography & videography, knowledgeable in best practices, and skilled with editing software 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in creating content for all major social media platforms 
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom). 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail. 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and WordPress skills are a plus. 
  • Graphic design and video editing skills are a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
