Fraser is seeking a Major Gifts Officer who will support the Director of Development in targeting major gifts, including capital gifts. This role is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors to secure critical funding for the organization's capital initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proven track record in major gift fundraising.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising

  • Cultivate and manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate donors with the capacity to make significant contributions ($25,000+ gifts).
  • Work closely with the Director of Development, executive leadership, and board members to leverage relationships and coordinate outreach. Maintain accurate donor records and campaign progress in the donor database.
  • Develop and implement individualized engagement strategies to move donors through the solicitation pipeline, focusing on securing multi-year and capital gifts, including soliciting sponsorship support for events.
  • Assist in developing and executing fundraising strategies specific to the facilities renovation and capital campaign, including naming opportunities, donor recognition plans, and special fundraising initiatives.
  • Identify and work with Sr Prospect Research Manager to qualify new major donor prospects through research and engagement strategies.
  • Conduct one-on-one donor meetings, presentations, and site visits to deepen donor engagement and commitment to the campaign.
  • Draft and customize compelling proposals, impact reports, and stewardship materials to inspire and retain donor investment.
  • Participate in and support donor cultivation events, campaign briefings, and recognition gatherings as needed.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of all of Fraser’s programs, funding sources and the political landscape and trends that influence donations.
  • Serve as an articulate, enthusiastic, and visible external spokesperson and champion for Fraser following marketing protocols. Passionately shares the organization’s/client’s stories and organizational needs. Work with the Marketing Department to create donor collateral materials and community presentations.
  • Ensure “donor designated funds” are properly recorded and communicated to the CFO.
  • Communicate successes, challenges, and barriers to the Director of Development and CEO.
  • Stay abreast of fundraising trends and best practices.
  • Maintain compliance and accountability standards and follows the Code of Ethics and principles set forth by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
  • Find new ways to be even more meaningful, effective, and efficient for our families, staff, and partners.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative

  • Meet regularly and work directly with Director of Development and Capital Needs Committee
  • Develop annual major donor program plans and long-range fundraising plans that include targeted goals, measurable objectives, action plans, corresponding timelines and budgets that align with Fraser’s strategic fundraising plan and business objectives.
  • Develop and report on MBOs for assigned areas as part of the Strategic Plan
  • Follow compliant processes for donor stewardship that include accurate recording, tracking and acknowledgement of gifts.
  • Participate in the Minnesota Planned Giving Association.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in development, business, sales, communications and/or marketing or a related field with proven fundraising experience. Master’s degree preferred.
  • CFRE certification or other major certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated success and direct implementation of managing an individual and corporate major gift operation for a nonprofit, political campaign, or social enterprise with a track record of overall growth.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in major gifts fundraising.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable record required.

Location & Pay: 

  • Location: Hybrid/Remote, Richfield, MN. 
  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,0000
