Reporting to the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer is responsible to develop and create sales, marketing, and promotional pieces to support the needs of our Sales Team and Marketing Managers.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with Sales and Marketing Managers to understand the usage and need for the marketing piece to be designed. 
  • Work with Sales, Marketing Managers, and Copywriter to design and shape the full life-cycle of digital communication with readers, participating in big picture strategy and the execution of individual digital pieces. 
  • Create and design print/digital advertising/promotional pieces, including but not limited to banner ads, emails, magazine ads, brochures, shareable images, conference displays, etc. 
  • Create 4-8 book cover designs per year in collaboration with the creative director. 
  • Perform other related and special duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A passion for books and the unique power of the written word 
  • Bachelor’s degree education in Graphic Design, New Media, or professional equivalent 
  • At least five years of experience in a design studio or creative consultancy 
  • Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Have the ability to self-direct and proactively execute multiple projects at once 
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements:

  • A strong sense for exceptional design—demonstrated through a unique, diverse portfolio showing skilled use of visual hierarchy, color, and typography. 
  • Team skills: An understanding of and ability to work through team dynamics, client expectations, and clearly communicate/update all parties involved in a project.
  • Communication skills: Has strong verbal and visual presentation skills, understanding the value of design and brand within a business context. 
  • Openness: Needs to be flexible, optimistic, and open to new ideas and ways of working.
