Our intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Baird’s intern program includes opportunities to learn, network and socialize, and serve the community. Interns are invited to Lunch & Learn events, a Brewer’s game at Miller Park, Baird Night at the Zoo, and many other informal events. Our interns have the opportunity to use a Baird Cares Day and get paid to volunteer in the community. They are also eligible to apply for $8,000 in scholarships. Our informal mentor program gives interns an opportunity to network throughout Baird and learn about all the areas of the firm.

Under the direction of the Art Director, performs a variety of projects. This member of the Creative Services team utilizes creativity and design skills while working collaboratively on a variety of projects. Project types include print and web-based media.

DUTIES:

  • Involvement in various phases of a project including: contributing to brainstorming & team meetings, involvement in aspects of the design, presentation, photo shoot, production and printing.
  • Contribute to print-based design projects: making content, design, layout, artwork changes and adjustments
  • Interprets brand guidelines and embodies a consistent visual brand representation for Baird within design.
  • Prepares appropriate files for vendors.
  • Assisting on web-based project needs as necessary.
  • Photographs various Baird events, parties, meetings and scenarios 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Pursuing a degree in Art, Graphic Design, or Visual Communications and Junior or Senior year standing required.
  • Advanced software proficiency required in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop in a Mac environment.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Word.
  • Familiar with a DSLR camera.
  • Solid portfolio of work demonstrating skills above.
  • Position requires attention to detail and sound design and typographical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Experienced with printing processes and file preparation.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and work well individually and in a team environment. 
  • Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines necessary.

Part-time during the school semester, at least 16-24 hours per week. Full-time during the summer, 37.5 hours per week.
