Reporting to the JCC Chief Development Officer and working alongside JCC Rainbow Day Camp’s Executive Director, the Grants Manager supports the philanthropy efforts of the Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp. This part-time (10 hours/week approx.) positionis responsible for overseeing the entire grant lifecycle, including identifying funding opportunities, preparing proposals, managing grant administration, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills and a passion for supporting our mission through effective grant management. This part-time position will primarily be remote, with the requirement to attend in-person meetings in Whitefish Bay a minimum number of 2 per week and will frequently visit Rainbow Day Camp in Fredonia during the summer season, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grant Research and Identification: Researches and identifies potential grant opportunities that align with JCC Rainbow Day Camp’s mission and goals; maintains records on funding prospects and manages a calendar of grant deadlines. 
  • Proposal Development: Coordinates with internal teams to gather necessary information and data and discuss program outcomes and budgets; develops and writes compelling grant proposals and submits applications. 
  • Grant Administration: Oversees the administration of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions; tracks and monitors grant budgets, expenditures, and reporting requirements. 
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepares and submits timely and accurate grant reports and other required documentation; works with JCC Rainbow Day Camp leadership team to gather materials for stories of impact; uses donor software to maintain comprehensive records of grant applications, awards, and communications. 
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serves as the primary point of contact for camp’s grant-related inquiries; builds and nurtures relationships with new and existing grant funders; serves as a connector between the JCC Financial Resource Development (FRD) team and the camp team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Completes special projects as assigned. 
  • Assumes responsibilities as assigned for JCC special events. 
  • Represents the JCC in a professional manner and promotes the JCC within the community. 
  • Actively promotes and practices the organization’s Positive Rules of Communication.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements (KSAs):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Exceptional level of organizational and project management skills, with strong attention to detail and to meeting deadlines. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor software is a plus. 
  • Results-oriented; can be counted on to meet and/or exceed goals successfully. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to be flexible within a dynamic work environment. 
  • Ability to work with confidential data and maintain the same.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. 
  • Professional experience in the non-profit sector preferred. 
  • Experience with foundation, corporate and government grants desirable.
