The Project Analyst is responsible for managing the project budgets and reporting including; review of accounts payable invoices, accurate preparation and review of client invoices, monthly reporting for all projects and working with client service teams to close projects within clients required guidelines.

  • Set up projects in the accounting system (including but not limited to creating project structure, entering budget, setting up revenue formulas, setting up project labor categories, and scheduling revenue) based on project requirements and in accordance with internal procedures/specifications. Make modifications as needed based on changes in project scope and/or timing
  • Prepare customer invoices in accordance with agreed-upon payment schedule and any client-specific requirements, including the collection of supporting vendor invoices or expense report documentation
  • Review vendor invoices for assigned projects and ensure expenses are properly documented and coded
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring completeness and accuracy of project data, including but not limited to transfers of hours and expenses between projects, review and reconciliation of corporate and field labor, reconciliation of advance balances to project reports, review of non-labor detail, and completion of correcting journal entries as needed
  • Generate periodic project reports, including Project Status Report (budget vs. actual), non-labor detail, and hours reports
  • Review reports with client service teams on a monthly basis, highlighting any areas of concern and ensuring receipt of appropriate report approvals from teams, as required under internal procedures
  • Reconcile and close projects upon completion, ensuring adherence to internal procedures and required client timelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance related position
  • Ability to key data accurately using 10-key and full keyboard
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to effectively present information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel
  • Ability to solve problems timely, effectively, and in a calm professional manner
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint (including Time & Expense) a plus
