The Field Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting the Marketing team in implementing the Milwaukee County Parks overall communications and marketing plan and providing essential support to the Field Marketing Coordinator in executing diverse marketing initiatives. The job involves coordinating with various vendors to obtain quotes, aiding in the project management of smaller initiatives related to graphics and production, and specifically overseeing the execution of advertising contracts. These are significant aspects of the department's promotional activities. The major objective of this role is to streamline and enhance marketing operations, to build awareness and knowledge of racial equity within the Milwaukee County Parks communities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Manage New Signage in the Parks - Work with Field Marketing Coordinator to plan the installation of new welcome, rules and regulations, and wayfinding signage within our Park System, particularly the North side of Milwaukee. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of marketing strategies with overall department goals such as including translations to help reduce racial barriers. Work with vendors for production, proofread for accuracy, pick up signs if applicable, and coordinate installation.
  • Communications - Assist the Field Marketing Coordinator in crafting effective communication materials, including press releases, bilingual communications, media alerts, talking points, newsletter emails, and quotes to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
  • Gather Content - Gather, take, and edit content (photos/videos) for digital use. Collaborate with other departments within the parks system to ensure content is accurate and received in a timely manner. 
  • Special Projects and Assignments - Participate in strategic signage planning and other promotion contracts assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experience:

  • Current residency in the State of Wisconsin required 
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout employment 
  • Associate’s degree and above in marketing and communications or related field required. 
  • At least One (1) year of experience in area of Graphicdesign, photography, videography 
  • Experience using one of the following, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred. 
  • Experience using one of the video edition tools (Adobe Premier or Pro) preferred. 
  • Agency experience preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs.

$41,828 - $53,622.4 annually.
