PAWS Chicago is looking for a detail-oriented, animal-loving Event Marketing Manager with a passion for animal welfare to join our team with a background in creative agency, corporate or non-profit marketing.

The Event Marketing Manager will play an integral role in driving event success and managing promotional campaigns. They will lead marketing campaigns and creative execution for PAWS Chicago’s five signature events: Animal Magnetism, the Peter Fasseas Golf Outing, Beach Party, 5K, and the Fur Ball. They will also be responsible for executing marketing efforts for TEAM PAWS Chicago, monthly adoption events, donor stewardship events, and occasional stewardship and acquisition events for PAWS’s key programs.

This role is central to PAWS Chicago’s mission of inspiring and mobilizing animal advocates to take concrete action and join the movement to build a No Kill Chicago. Mission-driven work will include:

Event Promotion and Marketing:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies for events across multiple channels, including email, social media, website, and print materials, to maximize attendance and engagement. 
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns targeting increased attendance, awareness, and engagement. 
  • Maintain and update event listings on PAWS Chicago’s website, social media platforms, and relevant community calendars. 
  • Ensure all event communications align with PAWS Chicago’s brand and messaging standards.

Creative Services:

  • Assist in writing event-related content that highlights PAWS Chicago’s mission and engages the community. 
  • Collaborate with the design team and external vendors for design needs, ensuring all assets are visually appealing and on-brand. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and partners for event materials, signage, and promotional items, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Track and report on the performance of event marketing campaigns, including attendance rates, engagement, and ROI. 
  • Leverage analytics to optimize future event marketing strategies, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for event stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any event-related questions or needs. 
  • Partner closely with Development, Communications, and Program Operations teams to align event marketing goals and maximize outreach. 
  • Coordinate with the Content and Digital teams to integrate event promotion into PAWS Chicago’s broader marketing strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and audience engagement.

Requirements:

  • Onsite 5 days a week. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in event marketing, preferably in a non-profit or fundraising environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Experience managing projects within a project management platform. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working cross-functionally. 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing, and website content management systems. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. 
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as required by event schedules. 
  • Passion for animal welfare and commitment to PAWS Chicago’s No Kill mission.

Salary Range:

$50,000-65,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
