The Employee Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing strategies to effectively communicate with employees throughout Agrace. This role involves developing clear and consistent messaging, managing communication channels such as email, intranet and social media, and ensuring that information is timely and relevant to employees. Under the guidance of—and in partnership with—the AVP of Marketing & Communications, the employee communications specialist liaises with various departments to gather information, writes content for internal publications, and monitors and measures the effectiveness of communication campaigns. The Specialist is part of the Marketing & Communications team.

Strategic Communication

  • Works collaboratively with agency leaders on initiatives having a communications component as well as initiates, organizes, and/or leads appropriate communications to update/educate internal audiences. 
  • Develops and implements employee communication strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives 
  • Creates engaging content for internal communications channels, including newsletters, intranet, email updates, and social media 
  • Monitors and analyzes employee feedback and sentiment to continuously improve communication efforts 
  • Collaborate with HR, Engagement, and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all internal communications 
  • Serves as a liaison between employees and management to address any concerns or feedback in a timely and professional manner  

Growth/Change Communication

  • In partnership with executive/service line leaders, develops communication plans, messaging, talking points, FAQs and Intranet pages/resource libraries. 
  • Ensures appropriate messaging related to organizational initiatives is created and delivered to employees using appropriate methods, tools, tactics, and vehicles. 
  • Oversees and manages internal communication messaging/follow-through for events such as Management Team meetings, State of Agrace meetings, listening sessions and other small group meetings. 
  • Executes internal change communication strategies including researching, writing, message development, pitching news stories and other announcement strategies.  

Public Relations 

  • Serves as backup media relations representative for patient media relations opportunities, event media relations and crisis communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of corporate communications experience, preferably in a health care setting. Media relations experience, crisis communication skills, and strong knowledge of communication and public relations practices, methods, and strategies. 
  • An accomplished storyteller, with proven communication skills and strong written, oral, and digital communications - superb writing skills are essential. 
  • Must be strategic, self-directing/driven, proactive and able to deliver in a high-standards environment. 
  • Knowledge of digital communication and WordPress experience required Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills Highly organized and proactive Ability to learn industry-specific software
