The Email Marketing Strategist is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of client email marketing strategies, with a focus on developing effective content, segmentation, and personalization to achieve client objectives. The Email Marketing Strategist will demonstrate leadership in developing industry expertise and overseeing strategic initiatives.

Email Marketing Strategist Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Client communication.Maintain consistent communication with clients in a clear, concise manner. Inform clients of opportunities and challenges within their account, offering strategic recommendations and initiating upsell opportunities when applicable. Lead onboarding efforts for new email marketing clients. 
  • Strategy development.Lead strategy development for clients, including client goal setting, content planning, integrating efforts across service lines, and making ongoing strategic decisions. Make recommendations to clients for email campaigns, automations, list growth, and database management based on available data and best practices. 
  • Campaign development.Create and deploy marketing emails for a variety of clients. Ability to manage & execute the email creative process from start to finish (content planning, copywriting, graphic design, template layout, testing, reviewing, & scheduling). Ability to write briefs/provide instruction to collaborate with external content development partners efficiently. Strong knowledge around client recommendations for automated email series & workflows to increase conversions and maximize subscriber engagement. 
  • Database management.Effectively manage lists and data per industry standards, best practices, and database terms of service. Coordinate list segmentation strategy, analysis, and implementation. Additional responsibilities may include setting up client accounts with an email service provider, conducting database migrations, and developing a working proficiency on a new platform. 
  • Reporting.Analyze email campaign results to gain insights for future strategies. Collaborate across service lines to effectively deliver reporting to the client. Share recommendations with the client in an easy-to-understand format that tells the story of the results to the client. 
  • Industry expertise.Monitor and evaluate new, innovative email trends. Initiate conversations with teammates and clients to educate and pursue new email marketing approaches.

Required Skills: 

  • 3+ years of email marketing experience in a professional setting, with additional general marketing experience. 
  • Advanced knowledge of major email marketing software: Mailchimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact preferred. 
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend new software. Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Canva, and Monday.com. 
  • Comprehensive data analysis skills with the ability to devise strategic recommendations based on findings. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong project management skills. Knows when to self-solve and when to seek guidance. Asks for direction when needed and looks for opportunities to guide teammates needing support. 
  • Well-organized, capable of balancing client timelines and business needs. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills. Takes initiative to solve problems as they arise and mitigate future occurrences. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with A/B testing and other testing metrics. 
  • Knowledge of SEO, PPC, and social media integration strategies. 
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to innovate. 
  • Advanced certification in digital marketing or related fields.

  • This is a fully remote position with monthly, mandatory in-person meeting obligations in the downtown area of our respective offices. We believe in having a locally-based team that can collaborate in-person, as needed.
  • Starting at $60,000.00/year. Salary, commensurate with experience
