The Opportunity/Position Description: Director of Philanthropy and Marketing
The Director of Philanthropy and Marketing reports directly to the CEO. The role will lead all initiatives related to Meta House’s philanthropic initiatives, private and public grant revenue, and marketing/communication efforts. Private philanthropy efforts will include:
- Support from corporations, foundations, and individuals
- Capital and other special campaigns
- Planned giving and endowment strategies, and
- Special events and sponsorships.
Public grant revenue oversight includes maximizing federal, state, and local funding opportunities. Directing marketing and communications for the agency requires a cohesive strategy and efficient execution. Ultimately, this position is responsible for generating strong, sustainable revenue streams for the organization from private and public sources.
Major Objectives Shorter Term Priorities
Within the first 12 to 18 months, the Philanthropy and Public Grants Director will achieve the following major objectives:
- Establish strong, collaborative, and trusting relationships with the agency’s President & CEO, Executive Management Team, Board of Directors, and the existing Development team members
- Design and build a high-performing team able to develop an increasingly larger and diverse donor base and grant revenues by clarifying departmental roles and establishing KPIs with data-driven metrics
- Develop accurate and efficient systems to track and comply with all application and reporting obligations for existing private and public grant opportunities while identifying new opportunities to pursue.
- Establish branding guidelines for the agency for all internal and external-facing communications and materials
- Assist with the completion of a $12 million capital campaign to support an expansion and relocation project
