Accountable for developing and executing internal communications strategies across the enterprise. As an active member and leader of the Medline Corporate Communications team, work closely with senior leadership of the company to ensure clarity of message, strategy and goals.

Lead a centralized team of communicators (internal) charged with producing day-to-day content, engaging internal campaigns, communications materials and programs that support Medline’s culture and business goals. Oversee the development and content of internal digital communications and recommending future internal digital communications channels and functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to, and execute strategy of, employee communications to drive employee engagement, internal understanding of company priorities and support company performance. 
  • Develop and disseminate timely and accurate information to Medline employees and sales teams, using print and electronic communications. Manage execution of all internal communications issues. 
  • Create, oversee and support the daily implementation of communications plans and make strategic recommendations and ensure superior delivery of communication programs and tactics within the organization. 
  • Advise management on, and develop, communications policies and employee engagement programs. 
  • Identify opportunities and tools to drive Medline's internal communications messaging to employees and sales force and create proposals to develop and fund such tools. Champion new possible vehicles for employee communications. 
  • Work with individual acquisition teams on communications materials (internal and external) in advance of acquisition announcements, at closing and during acquisition onboarding of employees into Medline. 
  • Manage and lead the content and editorial calendar of the company’s communications and newsletters. 
  • Directly engage and advise executives for various communications needs (ex. speechwriting). 
  • Oversee corporate internal event planning, such as Town Halls and other related activities. 
  • Lead internal digital communication initiatives and resources (ex. The Source).

Management responsibilities:

  • Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability. 
  • Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department; 
  • Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs; 
  • Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops; 
  • Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies; 
  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
