Purpose of Position:

Genesys Works Twin Cities seeks a mission-driven individual to further the mission of the organization by strategizing and planning fundraising events and initiatives, securing event sponsorships, and supporting other philanthropic efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Events: 30%

  • Develop and lead the Hatfield & McCoy’s virtual auction fundraising initiative. Coordinate asks of executives to auction their time, build demand from organizations to bid, and manage the bidding platform. 
  • Plan and execute the annual CIO Luncheon, in partnership with the Marketing and Communications Manager, and Director of Advancement. 
  • Produce and / or partner to deliver other fundraising events. 
  • Serve as a resource and partner with Marketing & Communications Manager and Corporate Partner team to develop and deliver stewardship and cultivation opportunities. Create key deliverables and proactively monitor fundraising plans to ensure progress toward achieving key goals, milestones, and timelines.

Sponsorships and Donor Relations: 35%

  • Serve as lead sponsorship strategist, including but not limited to cultivation and stewardship of current and potential partners and donors, lead prospect development, and renewal strategies. 
  • Strategically analyze, develop, execute, and monitor annual sponsorship plans to harness and grow institutional sponsorships program while maintaining and developing key relationships. 
  • In collaboration with the Corporate Partnership Team, conduct annual events and sponsorship outreach and secure signature fundraising events and program-specific event sponsorships from corporations, foundations, and individuals. 
  • Track sponsorship portfolio activity, maintain records, and generate reports, as required, via Salesforce and other systems. 
  • Create the annual sponsorship packet and other fundraising event and initiative assets while partnering with the Marketing and Communications Manager to expand outreach to key stakeholders.

Other Philanthropic Support: 30%

  • In partnership with the Senior Manager of Advancement, write, edit, proofread grant proposals and reports for general operating or program-specific grant funding. 
  • Assist individual giving campaigns, donor prospecting, data analysis, and reporting in collaboration with Revenue Team
  • Commitment to database use, management, maintenance, and reporting.

Volunteer Management: 5%

  • Manage volunteer data and tracking tools. 
  • Own the volunteer web page. Coordinate and update throughout the year. 
  • For applicable events, recruit and manage volunteer logistics and trainings.

We seek an individual who believes deeply in our organization’s mission, who thrives in a dynamic work environment, who can produce consistent, impactful, and timely service, and who is able to work both independently and collaboratively. More specifically, qualifications include:

  • 5 years of development/fundraising experience, with expertise in events and sponsorships required
  • Strong project management competencies, including organizational and problem-solving skills, skills in time management, and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate a strong and compelling case for support.
  • Ability to think strategically and build successful fundraising strategies for growth. 
  • Self-driven, can work well independently on a team, and cross-functionally. 
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to flex and adapt as the situation requires. 
  • Driver's license is strongly encouraged with the ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area, including locations inaccessible by public transit.

Starting annual salary for this position is $63,450. As an organization we value pay equity transparency for candidates and current Genesys Works staff. We offer market-based salaries that are based on local data. Comprehensive benefits package includes health coverage, paid time off, and (10) company holidays; a 403(b) retirement plan with company match, validated parking near the Genesys Works office in downtown St. Paul, and a communication allowance.

Genesys Works utilizes a hybrid structure, with an expectation that employees work both remotely and in-person at our downtown St. Paul office.
