Position Summary:

The Corporate Communications Specialist will assist in designing, writing, and delivering communication and engagement activities to support the SPS vision, mission, values, and strategic initiatives while educating employees about our employee value proposition, increasing employee engagement, and promoting the global Team SPS culture. This role brings creativity and innovation to a team with high visibility and high impact to 2,800+ global employees.

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Events, this role partners closely with all areas of the business to elevate employee communications and enhance the employee experience by ensuring timely information is provided through a variety of mediums. The Communications and Events team is responsible for promoting a sense of community and company pride, educating and increasing knowledge about SPS products and services, engaging teams in a flexible work environment, and supporting the SPS culture.

Location:

This role is either remote or hybrid out of one of our offices, based on the candidate’s location. For hybrid office locations, we Succeed Together though in-person collaboration, balanced with remote work to provide flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy Execution – Assist with managing internal editorial calendar and communication tactics to support corporate programs, events, and campaigns. Assist with managing corporate mailboxes, weekly emails, and intranet updates. 
  • General Communications Support – Curate and develop written and visual content for a variety of communication mediums including intranet, email, video, digital and print signage, internal social media, presentation decks, SharePoint, and more. Provide creative expertise for content to use on multiple channels and support internal communications strategy. Create messaging and materials for project-based and ongoing communications that align with the SPS mission, vision, values, priorities, employee value proposition, and brand standards. 
  • Communications Project Support – Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various initiatives and specific projects. Act as a project manager for communications initiatives to define key messages, target audiences, timeline, and content. 
  • Internal intranet site – Collaborate and partner with others on design creation and content for internal intranet, team SharePoint pages and more. Ensure current content, design, and information represents SPS brand, mission, vision, values, value proposition and is relevant to a global employee population. Oversee usage, regular monitoring, analysis and reporting; recommend ways to increase effectiveness and engagement. 
  • Human Resources Communications – Partner with Human Resources colleagues on a wide range of employee communication and engagement programs. Help create communications strategy, plan, and collateral materials for a variety of employee programs. Responsible for writing and distributing regular communications and updates for leadership, management, and all employees. 
  • Event Support – Support the planning and execution of major employee events. 
  • Process and Continuous Improvement – Adhere to brand standards; review existing processes to develop communications tactics and find efficiencies. Stay abreast of latest developments, technologies, and best practices to improve and strengthen SPS’ communications programs. Effectively utilize data, metrics, and user feedback.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Marketing Communications 
  • Minimum of 5 years of communications or marketing experience 
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities, projects and workflow; able to work with deadlines and demonstrate flexibility 
  • Proven ability to communicate with and maintain productive relationships with employees from all levels of an organization within a highly collaborative environment 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and ability to apply and adhere to communication guidelines 
  • Ability to manage complex projects and work well in a team environment 
  • Ability to make connections between projects, programs, and SPS guiding principles 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 
  • Detail-oriented and ability to catch minor writing and design flaws 
  • An eye for visual design and formatting
  •  Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite products including Illustrator or ability and willingness to learn graphic design skills
