Education/Experience:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be a baccalaureate degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism or other related field; and (2-3) years of related experience. Experience in writing and editing, communication coordination, and social media and web communications desired, as is experience working in a healthcare/medical or research environment. Required experience withmedia outlets whose primary audiences are BIPOC communities.
Skill, Knowledge & Ability:
Ability to self-start and function with minimal supervision, being well-organized, setting and following priorities, identifying and solving problems. Attentive to detail. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including writing, editing and proofreading. Knowledge of digital graphics and design. Ability to work under deadline pressure when necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Acrobat Professional, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other applications as needed. Professional demeanor, to include: high standards of attendance and punctuality, good interpersonal skills and customer-service attitude, ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
