Madison College has an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to join our Marketing Department as a Copywriter. This individual will create on-brand, connected content across a variety of platforms ranging from—but not limited to—website content, print and digital marketing materials, paid social media, video scripts, emails and presentations.

As a member of the Marketing Team, you will collaborate with team members to concept, develop and implement digital and print advertising campaigns, web content, video scripts and more that market the college's brand promise and unique selling points to a wide variety of audiences. You will write within the Madison College brand voice to strengthen and progress Madison College's reputation and brand image by ensuring the production of consistent, genuine and engaging high-quality marketing deliverables.

This position combines writing expertise in marketing and advertising applications with the ability to provide clear and informative content on Madison College’s website. The Copywriter will have extensive input into content created to support the strategic marketing plan and will be continuously taskedwith exploring new trends and approaches to meet our audiences where they are.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Creates copy for promotional materials such as: banners, flyers, posters, postcards, etc. for marketing and college initiatives. 
  • Performs content audits and suggests edits for existing copy for promotional materials and web pages to align with brand identity. 
  • Creates copy for online publication and web assets such as paid social media, video scripts, radio scripts, landing, and event pages. 
  • Collaborates with marketing team and internal/external stakeholders to establish voice, tone, and language for all projects. Works closely with the Communications team to ensure alignment with the external communications strategy and consistency across all collegewide messaging. 
  • Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision, and values. 
  • Other duties as defined by department, college, or officials.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of grammar and punctuation. 
  • Understanding of content marketing strategies and tactics to engage target audiences and drive applications. 
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and execute content strategies that align with marketing goals and objectives by researching and gathering information from various sources to support content creation. 
  • Strong project management skills to juggle multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality content on time. 
  • Proficiency in writing and editing copy for various platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, and print materials and the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences while maintaining brand consistency. 
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and embrace feedback for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent working experience. *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
  • Two (2) years of work experience directly related to the skills required for successfully performing the duties of this position.

Salary Information: $58,975-$73,713

This is a full-time, 52-weeks per year position, general working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm. Currently this position is hybrid, with 2-3 days on campus and the remainder virtual.
