PBS Wisconsin's Community Engagement team creates and fosters authentic relationships to ensure that all the communities we serve feel represented, valued, and connected with PBS Wisconsin through our programming, events, and outreach. This position will assist in the next phase of growth of our engagement and will join a team of engagement leaders focused on building authentic connections and doing meaningful, collaborative work.
Every community is different, and we strive to ensure our engagement reflects that. While there is no one-size-fits-all routine in the creation of our engagement - authentic relationship building, detailed preparation, and follow-through remain constants in our work. Community input and feedback, along with our own creativity, form the foundation of each of our engagement projects.
A successful Community Engagement Manager will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to connect authentically with diverse groups of people, and a creative approach to their work. The need for strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to make real-time decisions in event settings, and adaptability based on community feedback is a must.
PBS Wisconsin's community engagement work happens statewide, and occasional overnight and/or weekend travel may be required for meetings and events. This position reports to the Associate Director of Community Engagement & Impact.
