Milhouse’s Strategic Communications team is looking for a talented Communications Specialist to support our remarkable growth! As the Communications Specialist, you will be invited to participate in and take ownership of an array of marketing and communications initiatives that help drive our Milhouse success!

The Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's communication efforts, ensuring alignment with Milhouse principles and brand guidelines while effectively engaging internal and external stakeholders. The Communications Specialist oversees both internal and external communications initiatives, including email marketing campaigns, social media management, content development, and event coordination.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, self-motivated candidate to fill this role. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer that is passionate about expanding Milhouse’s brand footprint through storytelling.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain schedules for marketing activities, including social media, content creation, awards, and events. 
  • Conceptualize and execute organic social media campaigns to engage target audiences and promote brand awareness. 
  • Collaborate across business groups to deliver quality work under tight deadlines, leveraging leadership skills to manage projects from start to finish. 
  • Make website updates using WordPress, ensuring content accuracy and alignment with brand guidelines. 
  • Manage media relations through coordination with journalists, writing compelling content, and facilitating press coverage opportunities. 
  • Manage award submissions, showcasing organizational achievements and contributions within the industry. 
  • Manage and execute email marketing campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking. 
  • Support event planning and execution, including logistics coordination and communication strategies. 
  • Write blogs, press releases, and other communications materials, maintaining a consistent brand voice and messaging. 
  • Serve as a brand ambassador of Milhouse, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and design consistency across all communication materials. 
  • Work collaboratively with the Strategic Communications team to maintain a central information database of custom-created content for use on future projects. 
  • Lead internal communication program to enhance employee engagement and alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Develop and lead communication strategy for organizational leaders, including social media usage and thought leadership initiatives.

Your skills and abilities:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling content across various formats in Milhouse brand voice. 
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and personalities. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring all communication materials meet the organization's standards and objectives.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications role, with demonstrated expertise in content creation and campaign management. 
  • Experience coordinating media relations activities, including building relationships with journalists, drafting press releases, and facilitating press coverage opportunities.
