The Communications Manager is responsible for communication content across a variety of channels, including emails, newsletters, ads, collateral, documents, and press materials. The role is also responsible for maintaining brand standards for all Accanto companies and maintaining an intranet.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining an annual strategic communication plan for organization 
  • Fielding, coordinating and/or writing responses to press inquiries, both direct inquiries and inquiries via PR or other partner agencies 
  • Creating and maintaining collateral materials 
  • Developing and/or coordinating the creation of ads for a variety of audiences 
  • Overseeing company intranet (SharePoint), developing content, and assisting staff with intranet use 
  • Managing community relations efforts (organizing virtual and in-person community events and developing promotional items) 
  • Drafting, editing, and/or vetting regular, intermittent, and crisis communications with leadership regarding company-wide, integration, medical, clinical, operational, etc. changes and updates 
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance leadership visibility, celebrate successes, and promote understanding of various functions/company priorities 
  • Partnering cross-functionally to proactively mine internal content ideas and press pitches 
  • Creating, editing, and managing production of staff, community, and client-facing materials, including ads 
  • Creating and sending newsletters and other mass emails 
  • Maintaining brand standards, updating company templates (i.e. letterhead, folders, PowerPoint slides, etc.) 
  • Managing print vendor relationship and coordinating, creating, and shipping high-quality print materials and giveaways Providing guidance to staff regarding internal communication policies and procedures, style and tone of messaging, content development/editing, and approval requirements 
  • Measuring and presenting results of communication efforts 
  • Coverage for other staff, including managing intranet maintenance and content; fielding, responding to, and escalating inquiries and comments; posting news items; providing support to staff regarding requests. 
  • Managing Communications Specialists 
  • Other tasks, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a communications, marketing, English, journalism, or related field strongly preferred. 
  • 6+ years of demonstrated success in the communications field is required. Public relations experience is a plus. 
  • Proficient in project management, writing, and design. 
  • Experience managing SharePoint or other intranet platforms. 
  • Experience with survey tools and Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator is preferred. Management experience strongly preferred. 
  • Experience working in a behavioral health environment is a plus.
