Communications Manager

The Development department is seeking a Communications Manager to be responsible for providing external communications to donors, media, partners, and the public. Will manage the agency’s print and digital publications, website and social media platforms as well as provide various duties as needed to support the development department goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field. 
• Two years’ experience in a communications related position, preferably in a non-profit organization. 
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and other related platforms. 
• Demonstrated proficiency with website management and social networking platforms. 
• Familiarity with the Chicago metropolitan area news outlets and philanthropic community. 
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with coworkers. 
• Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and tact in dealing with staff, clients, volunteers, board members, auxiliaries, donors, and the public. 
• Detail oriented with the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
