In Minnesota, our 10,000 lakes, natural resources, and four distinct seasons define our lives. The Great Outdoors is where many of our most cherished memories with family and friends are created. Passing our experiences and traditions to the next generation and being good stewards of our lakes and land are values we all share. At Conservation Minnesota, we protect the Minnesota you love by solving our state’s most important conservation problems. This position will work across our family of organizations, which includes our 501c3, Conservation Minnesota, our 501c4, Conservation Minnesota Voter Center, and our PAC, Climate Vote Minnesota.
Understanding the unique interests of individual Minnesotans helps us have a greater impact. It allows us to demonstrate how different issues are interconnected, just like nature itself. Our members learn that other seemingly unrelated conservation priorities connect naturally to their concerns and provide new opportunities to make a difference. Our unique, bipartisan approach has made us the state’s fastest growing conservation organization, expanding our network from 5,000 to over 100,000 people since 2012.
HOW YOU WILL BE SPENDING YOUR TIME
Content Creation, Storytelling, and Editing
- Manage interdepartmental communications workflows in our project management tools
- Edit and input communications into email platforms
- Work as part of a team to write, edit, and produce engaging emails, stories, videos, articles, blog posts, and multimedia content highlighting the impact of our programs and the issues we support
- Ensure all outgoing communications use the CM voice and represent our brand
Social Media
- Create and maintain a social content strategy and calendar
- Create and promote events to support Public Engagement Team efforts
- Listen and respond to key influencers and targets through social channels
- Provide and analyze reporting from current social platforms and assess new social channels
Website Support
- Provide quarterly audits of the websites for CM’s family of organizations to ensure content is functional and timely
- Manage content updates within Content Management Systems (CMS)
- Provide reporting from Google Analytics
Digital Campaigns
- Create digital education, advocacy, and accountability campaigns by developing targeting, crafting creative, testing, and analyzing for improvement, keeping the goal at the heart of the campaign
- Manage advertising platforms to launch and manage campaigns
- Maintain political verification on all advertising platforms for CM’s family of organizations
- Work on electoral initiatives, including issue education and voter engagement
Other in-person projects as needed, including but not limited to sorting return mail and data entry.
