Overview:

A collaborative leader responsible for developing and executing a global communication program that advances corporate objectives and growth strategies, fosters consistent Principal engagement, and supports a connected, informed culture across the business.

Working alongside senior leadership and in collaboration with country Marketing and Communications leaders, this role will help plan, develop, and implement global messaging in partnership with national and regional programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and help execute a messaging framework that effectively communicates the company's financial performance, growth strategy, and market leadership position by aligning corporate objectives with priorities across major markets 
  • Guide C-suite communications, including presentations, internal messages, and external thought leadership in alignment with the messaging framework and corporate objectives 
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic communications for major corporate initiatives and activity, including significant capital events, mergers & acquisitions, ratings reports, and other third-party industry activity relevant to the firm 
  • Coordinate the planning, content development, and execution of key company-wide communications including our Annual General Meeting (AGM), global town halls, and leadership messaging 
  • Ensure all corporate messaging aligns with Avison Young’s global brand positioning framework, reinforcing our values and key brand pillars, and maintaining consistency across internal and external communications. 
  • Support the continued development of our communications program to Principals, ensuring consistent, relevant engagement that empowers growth and impact across the firm 
  • Support employee connectivity through the strategy, resourcing, and performance of internal communications and engagement platforms, including FirstUp and Microsoft Teams 
  • Partner with HR to communicate essential, global employee initiatives, including learning and development programming, engagement surveys, annual awards, compensation messaging, and other priority activities 
  • Lead an investor relations and stakeholder communications strategy, including quarterly earnings communications and various internal and external content programs 
  • Monitor and integrate financial performance data and industry conditions into clear, actionable insights 
  • Oversee crisis communications planning and execution, serving as a key advisor to senior management during critical business activity
  • 10-15 years of experience in corporate communications, with significant exposure to CRE and investor communications 
  • Strong understanding of the global commercial real estate industry 
  • Proven track record of developing executive communication strategies 
  • Advanced degree in Communications, Business, or related field 
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to translate business performance metrics into compelling narratives 
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing high-profile corporate meetings, webinars, and live events 
  • Experience successfully managing employee engagement programs and tools that drive organizational culture and values 
  • Experience developing and implementing internal recognition programs and awards 
  • Proven ability to support quarterly performance communications and stakeholder updates 
  • Expertise in measuring the effectiveness of internal communications programs to support strategic planning and resourcing
