Position Summary:

The Communications and Donor Engagement Manager is the lead steward of Encompass Early Education & Care’s nonprofit mission and responsible for developing our communications strategies, with a focus on donor and prospective donor audiences throughout the community. This self-driven individual will manage all aspects of our agency communications to ensure alignment with our strategic plan. You will be responsible for designing and implementing communications campaigns for recruiting new donors, stewarding existing donor relationships, and engaging corporate partnerships to further expand fundraising efforts across the organization.

Essential Functions:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the Encompass strategic plan. 
  2. Content Creation: Produce high-quality content, including press releases, webpages, newsletters, blog posts, videos, social media posts and donor stewardship materials.
  3. Campaign Management: Plan and execute fundraising communications campaigns to enhance donor involvement and support. 
  4. Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, pitch stories, and be a point of contact for media inquiries. 
  5. Corporate Relations: Build and maintain relationships with corporate volunteer groups, stewarding sponsorships and fostering a greater understanding of our mission. 
  6. Digital Content Management: Oversee the Encompass website, social media platforms, and email marketing to ensure timely and engaging content. 
  7. Brand Management: Monitor and maintain brand guidelines and ensure brand consistency across all communications. 
  8. Storytelling: Identify and highlight stories that showcase Encompass' impact and work in the community and the difference donors can make. 
  9. Collaboration: Work in collaboration with Centers and staff to understand and respond to their communications needs. 
  10. Event Planning and Promotion: Lead the planning and promotion of fundraising events and other engagement activities. 
  11. Analytics: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication and engagement strategies using metrics and analytics to inform future efforts.

Non-Essential Functions:

  1. Support the Fund Development Department
  2. Support the Encompass mission, demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality in all encounters
  3. Other duties as assigned

Education | Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, event management and/or fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with comfort in public speaking to groups. 
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media, email marketing and website content management systems. 
  • Skilled with SEO, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Constant Contact, WordPress and/or similar marketing tools. 
  • Proven experience managing graphic design and video production projects. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective communication and engagement strategies. 
  • Experience managing media relations and crafting press materials.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Description: $51,000-$55,000/year.
