The Media Strategist plays a crucial role in elevating the organization's mission through effective communication, media strategies, event management, and marketing efforts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication Strategy, Social Media and Website Management (50%):

  • Develop and implement communication and content strategies to recruit prospective donors, and engage community partners, and referring agencies. 
  • Oversee the ideation, creation, and management of content for all social media accounts and the agency website. 
  • Activate and manage marketing, fundraising, and ticketing plans for ancillary programming, including paid advertisements via Meta Business Manager. 
  • Act as the primary photographer for all agency events, processing, editing, and distributing media through Adobe Suite.

Design and Content Creation (20%):

  • Create and design all visual content for social media, print materials, and the agency's website using Canva and Adobe Suite. 
  • Write, create, and distribute the agency newsletter via Mailchimp, managing contact lists and segmentation. 
  • Develop and manage agency communications, including scheduling and aggregating events

Event Management and Marketing (15%):

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute events, including the annual spring gala and other programming. 
  • Manage ticketing for events using electronic ticketing systems, ensuring seamless user experience and accurate tracking. (Humantix, Eventbrite) 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to market events, ensuring maximum engagement and attendance. 
  • Design and create all communication materials related to events, including invitations, programs, and promotional materials using Adobe Suite and Canva.

Fundraising and Strategic Direction (10%):

  • Co-create and manage an annual fundraising calendar and budget, of fundraising events and campaigns with the Executive Director. 
  • Arrange sponsor procurement and agreements, manage the fundraising platform, and ensure proper fund allocation. 
  • Support grant writing efforts and participate in meetings with grant partners. 
  • Collaborate with program coordinators and administration to develop and refine media and marketing strategies that support organizational goals. 
  • Lead and participate in social media conversations, using professional judgment to manage potential issues.

Training and Compliance (5%):

  • Design and facilitate new hire orientation and ongoing monthly training via Google Workspace. 
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Human Services standards, laws, and regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva for design and content creation. 
  • Experience with Mailchimp for email marketing and newsletter distribution. 
  • Proven track record in event management, including ticketing, marketing, and execution.
  • Strong website management skills, including content updates and user experience optimization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Art, or related field with two years of professional social media/communications experience OR 
  • A non-communications degree with three years of progressive responsibility in social media, communications, and/or marketing.

COMPENSATION:

$50,000 – $54,000. This is an exempt position.
