This role is responsible to directly manage the following categories: Entertaining (COLUMBUS, GATHERINGS) , Deli meats (NATURAL CHOICE, BREAD READY), Retail Refrigerated (ribs, bacon, sliced meats, and peperoni)

This person will have the opportunity to drive brand awareness and preference in consumer minds through the execution of clear brand strategies and initiatives that generate sell out and ultimately deliver AOP financial targets.

  • Business planning, P&L management, business initiative execution:  Support senior brand manager to reach divisional financial objectives and goals. Supports gathering markets and industry understanding of trends, preferences and behaviors, and how consumers and channels will buy and engage with our brands. Runs internal and external reports to provide information on what is working or not during brand commercial initiatives.
  • Brand Equity Management: Provides reports and analyses to evaluate category and product mix health. Coordinates and supports activations of marketing programs with agencies. Assists creation of commercial materials for offline and online campaigns. Maintains and updates DAM & PIM for HFIC unique products and share information with key stakeholders.
  • Innovation: Supports maintenance and update of new products information in Compass. Supports the development of products that meet market needs and coordinates the collection of content. Coordinates cost reduction projects with external vendors and agencies.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Contributes for consistent communication with Hormel Foods Corporation teams, domestic marketing team and local markets. Helps to identify and communicate competitive issues, opportunities, and trends. Functions as liaison between International and Domestic / Corporate teams.
  • Channel Development: Provides assistance creating launch and training materials for new products. Coordinate samples between vendors and countries. Assists proper price positioning in alignment with region/country manager based on value proposition, benchmarking, strategic implications, and margin targets.

Required

  • 3+ years related marketing experience or 3+ years retail sales experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent. MBA is a plus.
  • Good foundation and understanding of core marketing and sales principles.
  • Breakthrough thinking and entrepreneurial mindset, who sees problems as opportunities.
  • Values diversity and is adaptable to working in a variety of cultural settings and business environments.
  • Creativity, persuasiveness and highly determined.
  • Learn new things and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other language is a plus.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Brand Manager I role is $103,350 - $144,700 per year; and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location. This position is also eligible for a location premium.
