Assist with internal and external communications, manage district social media platforms, and provide district video and photo coverage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manage and maintain district social media platforms
  2. Monitor school social media platforms and support school social media administrators 
  3. Research, write, edit, proofread and revise content for print, online and individuals 
  4. Assist with the compilation of internal and external district newsletters
  5. Coordinate and produce feature videos showcasing students and staff
  6. Arrange and conduct photography coverage showcasing students and staff
  7. Assist with facilitating monthly student recognition awards
  8. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Communications Officer and/or Superintendent of Schools 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  2. Knowledge of AP stylebook formatting
  3. Skill in the use of computer applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Google, and Microsoft
  4. Skill in the operation of digital cameras and video equipment
  5. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various stakeholders
  6. Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
  7. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
  8. Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary
  9. Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  10. Ability to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision

EDUCATION:

  • Required – Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or other related field 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required – 3 years of current work experience in communications or related field, including writing, editing, proofreading, and layout and design experience
  • Required – 1 year of current work experience in social media content creation, management and strategy
  • Required – Photography/videography capturing and editing experience, preferably using Adobe Creative Suite 

LANGUAGE:

  • Required – English 
  • Preferred – Spanish Bilingual/Biliterate

COMPENSATION: 

  • $54,048.00 per year
